Re: Grammar police help

I don't get any slippers, but when I walk in the door her whole body is wriggling with joy and as soon as I sit down she climbs up and licks my face and ears. I don't think Jeff can match that, and if he could, I don't want to see it!

Re: Grammar police help

I was thinking along those lines about adding the verb, but like Momma said, it sounds affected. In a few years it won't matter anyway, all our writing will be "teh trofee be tlr then myself".

Grammar police help

My cousin-in-law posted on Facebook that her daughter won an event and said, "the trophy is taller than me!"

Her mom posted this reply: "Taller than "I"......ughhhhhhh"

Is that correct? What is the correct usage there?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: This or That?

Love cilantro, despise canned green beans (I only like fresh green beans if they are still crisp), no preference on corn on the cob. Don't use artificial sweeteners. I used to be a cat person (had two when I was a teenager), but I like dogs better now. After somehere around 9,000 pet visits over the...

Re: The Village's Mutual Improvement Society

Momma, Please don't get discouraged. After my diagnosis, my doctor sent me to classes for diabetics. They were really great, and if you have anything like that in your area I would strongly encourage you to attend. I learned a lot, especially about eating better and how food affects my blood sugar. ...

Re: A New Thread For Whining and General Gnashing of Teeth

I'm back on the backpack thing. First is a good thing: In California and Hawaii, all wards and/or stakes do a Mormon Helping Hands service project in April, and our ward is doing one that, in part, includes filling bags of beans and rice to put in the school backpacks. I'm glad we're going to give ...

Re: Big Bang Theory

I remember feeling the same disdain for "Arrested Development" when everyone was raving about it. I jumped in about midway through Season 2, and I hated it so much, I couldn't understand how anyone with functioning brain cells could find it clever or funny. I guess I can understand this a...

Big Bang Theory

So, a few weeks ago, we were at a client's house watching TV, sitting with their dogs. Their DVR came on and started ercording Big Bang Theory. We had never watched it before, we pretty much don't watch any shows on CBS since The Unit (they don't seem to interest us). We couldn't change the channel ...

I used to teach the 16-18 year old class until about a year ago. Many of the kids are still in the class and the teacher asks me to sub when ever he can't make it. I subbed yesterday and one of the girls when she came in was really happy that I was teaching. She said that it made her whole day. That...

Re: Funny dream

My wife had a dream a while ago that I had cheated on her. It was so real to her that when she woke up she was mad at me all day. She lost her temper several times that day. She knew it was just a dream, but the feeling stuck with her all day.

Re: A New Thread For Whining and General Gnashing of Teeth

I'm geeting laid off next week. It's the trird time in 8 years, all from this same construction project. It's a disappointment, but we both feel at peace. Comfort from the Lord. We feel like this is also a push to get us moving back towards school. Our pet sitting business is doing well and we shoul...

Re: The Village's Mutual Improvement Society

My weight has remained fairly steady (292-296). I am blaming one of my medications, which I can now stop taking. Met with the endocrinologist on Friday and they checked my A1C (3 month average of blood glucose levels). This was my first check since the initial diagnosis. Then it was 9.3 and my doc w...

This sounds really good, I like that there is no sugar added. I'll have to try this.
