Want to see some WWII newsreels?

Postby robcan2 » Thu 24 May, 2007 09:25 am

Interesting article here.

On Thursday, Ancestry.com unveils more than 90 million U.S. war records from the first English settlement at Jamestown in 1607 through the Vietnam War's end in 1975. The site also has the names of 3.5 million U.S. soldiers killed in action, including 2,000 who died in Iraq.

You can access the military records for free from now until June 6th (D-Day anniversary) if you go to http://www.ancestry.com/military They do require a registration, but you only have to provide an email address (no credit card).

They have over 200 newsreels. I watched a couple and they are pretty interesting. I've been searching for my grandfather in the other military records. Haven't found him yet, but I'm still looking.
