Jeff's birthday...or is it?

Postby Momma Snider » Thu 02 Jun, 2011 11:21 am

I kind of hesitate to mention it, because this place is such a ghost town these days, and if I wish Jeff a happy birthday and no one joins me, it will feel like he had a party and no one came. (That actually happened to my sister on her 40th -- her husband got up a surprise party, invited a lot of people, and no one but family showed up.)

On the other hand, surely someone will cruise the Board sometime today, and even if they don't, I can wish Jeffy a happy birthday all by myself. Which I do. Love you, Big J!

Happy Birthday, Jefe*!

(* Misspelling intended, it means boss in spanish.)
Indifference. It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

Happy birthday to you, Jeffj! Man, I just wish you were feeling all pain-free and peppy and celebratory, because when back pain is your constant companion, nothin' seems like fun, at least in my world. I hope you find a complete and permanent solution to your back problems very soon, and in the meantime, keep knowing how awesome you are and how blessed you are!

♥♥♥♥ and one for the #2 Son, soon ♥

Yay! Happier birthday.

And that just about rounds it out nowadays.

I didn't hit the village yesterday, but I did catch it on Facebook. For what that's worth.

Also spending a lot of time at the hospital with my mother in law, so if I have an opportunity to snag Jeff some of The Good Stuff(tm)(r)(patent pending) I will.

I care that you had a birthday and hope it was a happy one, but I care more that your back starts feeling better. Please, let it feel better soon!

And don't get addicted to any of the meds!

I appreciate both sentiments, Card. I had as nice a birthday as you can have when you're on day 17 of doing nothing but lying in bed. I woke up to breakfast in bed from the wife and kids, which wasn't a ton different, since I've been taking all my meals in bed. But they don't always start with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday."

As for the back, I am flying down to L.A. tomorrow for another surgery on Thursday, and I'm going to be much less aggressive with the physical therapy this time. Make sure it's all healed, then I'll worry about strengthening it back up.

And hopefully Beth will still be pregnant when I get back.

Yes, hopefully she is still pregnant.

When you don't have health problems it's easy to forget how painful life can be for those who have injuries or illnesses. But I am quickly reminded of what a difference it makes, even when I have allergies or am feeling a little off. Even a mild cold can really affect a person's emotional well-being if it reduces their abilities to be productive. In summation, I hate being sick or injured, and I really hope for a solution for those who are dealing with those things right now.

Funny that I thought this place was a ghost town two years ago. But I will wish Jeff a happy birthday again. It was actually yesterday, so I hope he had a good one. I know he had a cook cake the day before.

Happy birthday, Mr. Jeff. So what do we call you when you hit your target weight? I don't think your screen name will apply.

Scott's remark was so perfect that my computer thinks it's new every time I check.
