I was going to suggest if you love your body you should buy it a cake and throw it a party, but then you kinda went there with the giving junk to your kids and pets part at the end. :)

I'm working on it again! I am not going to be defeated by my appetite! I was down in the 186s today, but that was because of fasting yesterday, but still, I'm sure I won't be back in the 189s tomorrow. I can do this! I'm not talking about getting down to the 130s, where I should be, but I will get rid of what I've gained in the past year. I will.

Go Momma! You can do it!

I totally mis-typed San Diego, when what I meant to type was San Francisco. But I have been to San Diego, and yes, I did love it, it was lovely. San Francisco is also lovely, although when I was there, the city had record high's in the 90's one day, and I found out no one in San Francisco has AC, because they so rarely need it! Even in the shopping malls, no AC! I did not expect that!

Haven't weighed, don't intend to. It's my wedding anniversary, and I had sushi dipped in tasty sodium ( soy sauce ) and I can feel my ankles bloating as I type. So, I refuse to even give my scale the opportunity to lie to me.

Haven't weighed in for a while because Reasons(TM).

Today is a good day, though. A special day, if you will:

371.2/367.8/359.9/299.9

So I've finally hit my next "short term goal" that wasn't very short term! Could the be the start of more progress? Maybe! Stay tuned...

For anyone who was wondering, I am OK. I live near the flooded areas, but luckily was not flooded out. However, our backup data center for work wasn't so lucky. So, been busy rebuilding servers at another location, setting up network, testing failovers, etc. Not a lot of time to post.

Haven't weighed myself. Pants are tight. Don't really care.

I haven't read any newspapers or watched any news, so while I was aware that there was flooding, I didn't really know where it was. I'm glad you're okay. Mother Nature is such a pain sometimes. We had 120 degrees here on the day after Father's Day, according to the newspaper, and nearly that hot on the weekend, while we were gone and apparently our sprinkler system quit working. We have an Eastern Redbud tree in a big pot that we've had for 14 years, and all its leaves burned to a crisp. We hope it will come back, but we won't really know until next spring.

So yeah, in the long run, tight pants don't really mean anything. We'll talk about it when the flood damage has been dealt with, and my tree decides whether to live or die.

I got my LASIK surgery done Thursday. I can see about as well as I could with contacts, only without the hassle, so I guess it was a good thing. When it starts to get dark, like right now, I can't see as well, and the computer is just at the wrong distance for either eye, but that was to be expected. I will have to adapt my computers or else grow a third eye that they can program for computer distance.

I was on vacation from June 24 until July 10. Hadn't heard about floods, glad to hear KMD is safe.

Sorry to hear about the tree. Our lawn was doing poorly when we got home. Insufficient water for the heat.

Gained over 10 pounds while on vacation at one point, but:

Instead of last week/this week/short term goal/long term goal, I'm doing last low/this low/short/long. So today:

366.8/364.0/359.9/299.9

Okay, Scotty!

I went back to work today after seven weeks off. I always plan to lose 20 pounds over the summer, or at least 10. I didn't do that, once again, but I did lose about seven. I weighed in the 189s just before Father's Day, and I'm in the 182s now. If only I can keep from stuffing my face mindlessly while I'm working! It's a little easier during the summer, because I sleep later so I don't get hungry until later. But I also need to get over the concept that I must eat just because my stomach rumbles.

182.6/181.2/179/165
But after several days of feeling pretty much anorexic, not really interested in eating, and only losing a little over a pound in a week, I am really hungry. I have eaten enough, but I'm sure I haven't overeaten, and I haven't had any sweets at all, come to think of it. I have also done a goodly walk every morning since last Monday, except Sunday. I hope at least to get into the 170s. I've been back at work for a week, and so far I haven't had any trouble resisting temptation there, but I am back to sitting most of the day.

If I hadn't been weak and cheated one night, I'd be to the next short term goal! Oh well.

I have been around 180 for a week or so, actually in the 179 range a couple of days last week. Very frustrating that I can't stay there, but it was fun while it lasted!

As I posted on Twitter/Facebook, yesterday was a bad day, a day I have dubbed the Fatpocalypse. Sad / mild depression (nothing horribly severe) and I decided fast food therapy was in order. So one, maybe two steps back. Just have to be more disciplined for a while.

i just want to say that it is not fair that one day of depression or discouragement can cause such a setback in weight loss. If that's going to be the case, then one excellent day of denying oneself many treats should cause a great weight loss. In fact, if we resist an especially great temptation, shouldn't we lose even more weight? I vote yes.

I had jury duty Monday and Tuesday, and that was good for me, even though i hated it. It was a month-long trial, and it took two days just to get excused, but I was sick to my stomach every time I had to walk in or out of the courtroom, just the thought of having to spend a month listening to people arguing and attorneys trying to twist what the witnesses say and all that. Anyway, all that combined with only having specific breaks was good for my weight. I dipped very briefly to 177.8 this morning, before I stood up straight. That was fun!

I've always wanted to serve on a jury, but I agree that a month-long trial would be a bit much.
