Happy Birthday, Momma!
Indifference. It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to just sit there with a dumb look on your face.

Thank you all! I really had a good day. I always love being at work on my birthday, and I get lots of Valentiny stuff even from people who don't know it's my birthday. My coworkers came through as always. I had asked for breakfast instead of lunch, so they made waffles, and there was fruit and hashbrowns. The only problem was that they always try to get fancy, and they put cinnamon and other spices in the batter, and I MUCH prefer plain old Bisquick waffles. But I still ate two of them. Then one of them had made chicken soup for lunch, which was nice and light after the heavy breakfast, and we had cheesecake after that. AND Renee had brought half a chocolate Costco cake, the kind with several layers, and I took that home.

I worked for a while at the old house, preparing for the estate sale, and then went home, where Rocky had fixed dinner. We ate some of the chocolate cake for dessert.

So I had plenty to eat, and 59 looks like it will be a perfectly good year.

Come on, Village People! Are we THAT tied to Facebook, that we let almost the whole day go by without celebrating the reason Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, is celebrated every year?!?!?!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LAURIE!!! You illustrate, exemplify, and embody the concept of LOVE better than anyone I've ever known. ♥♥♥

Thank you! It's been a great day, and I did get quite a few Happy Birthdays on Facebook, so it's okay if no one here could be bothered. Sniff. I'm fine.

And YOU, Karenin, illustrate, exemplify, and embody the concept of LOVE better than anyone I'VE ever known.

Happy Birthday! My reason for not doing it before now is that 21 years ago today my mother was buried, so it's a hard day for me. {sniff} This is the same reason I tell Sandee I can't do anything for Valentines Day.

But not really. I did get just a little emotional on the 12th while driving home from work, but not so much today. I'm just a heel and haven't done any Feb 14th stuff today.

Remember the china I saw at the temple two years ago, and then when it was still there a year ago, I shamelessly turned the dessert plate upside down (after eating the cake) to see the name of the pattern? And it was Noritake Greenbriar, and it is beautiful? Well, I'd forgotten about it, but Rocky remembered, only he didn't remember the name, so he called the temple president's wife and asked her, and he ordered it for me for my birthday. And it is beautiful! I posted a link to it before, but maybe I can figure out how to post a picture, for anyone who didn't see it on Facebook.

And Eric made me a CD of some songs that he likes that he thought I'd like, and I do. I had never heard most of them, since I don't get a chance to listen to the radio much, but my new favorite song is 1,2,3,4 by Plain White T's, and there are a bunch of others on there that I love, too. And the other kids gave me a gift basket with some Old Navy corduroy jeans (discontinued) and some garden ornaments, including a fairy, and some Bath and body stuff, and a book Joy put together called "60 Reasons to Love You," because, you know, I turned 60. They wrote things they like about me on little slips of paper and she made it into a scrapbook. It's so sweet!

Noritake Greenbriar is beautiful!

When I lived in NC, I was near Replacements Ltd. and you can find every kind of china pattern you would ever want there. Especially discontinued items. We were able to buy my MIL this odd Rooster pattern that I believe her mother had gotten long ago from their grocery store points program. So, now she has a complete set. That place is awesome for stuff like that.
