Linking policy

Postby shrff » Wed 29 Jun, 2005 04:38 pm

I'd like to put a link to on my personal website. Is there a policy covering this or can I just do it?

We encourage any and all links. We have no established policy regarding this, other than we generally do not participate in link exchanges. (We occasionally make exceptions, but only when it is mutually beneficial, meaning that the other site will actually be of interest to our readers, AND having our link on their site will help our Google rankings.)

Of course, the better the text of the link, the better for us, so if you are interested in giving us a really good link, I recommend that you choose something very descriptive and concise as the text of the link. What I mean is, it doesn't really help the Google rankings much to do Eric D. Snider, because let's face it, anyone who Googles for "Eric D. Snider" is going to find the site anyway. But a link like Movie Reviews or My Favorite Humor Columnist actually helps with Google rankings.

Of course, you are welcome to link however you want. All links help; some are just more helpful than others.
