Site Storage

Postby SDR » Tue 11 Oct, 2005 11:45 am

Just because I'm curious ... how much storage is the site taking these days? Any idea roughly how many pages it translates too?

We are using about 400 MB of storage space for files, and another 120 MB or so in the database. With our current host, I don't even worry about it anymore, because their disk storage and bandwidth allowances are so ridiculously high that it will never be an issue.

(By the way, for the first time in the history of ericdsnider.com, I can actually highly recommend the host that we are using! If you are looking for hosting, Dreamhost is the way to go. If you want to check them out, use THIS LINK, because I get rewards if you sign up through my link. They have plans starting at $7.95/month -- or $9.95/month if you don't want to pay for a lot in advance -- and they have been great.)

Here is a great example of Jason's selective memory. Just as Jason has conveniently forgotten that he HATED Carmen Rasmusen before he fell in love with her, he has also forgotten that he was the one who recommended AIT to me, and he kept using them long after I quit.

Wow I guess I do have selective memory...anyway, I am still in love with Carmen Rasmusen...in fact, i'm listening to one of her songs right now.

Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot that I recommended them to you. I was thinking of how you kept trying to talk me into going back to them after they sucked.

Yeah that is probably true. I agree that they suck now and will never use them again...They kept one of my domain names and want to charge me a ton to get it back.

Thanks for the information ... they do indeed seem to be very generous with their storage/bandwidth limitations.
