Postby Ryan Reeder » Fri 13 Jan, 2006 03:39 am

Mine came with 338 e-mail addresses of subscribers. Did yours?

Well, it came with a load of e-mail addresses at the bottom. I didn't count them so I don't know if there were 338 or not. :D

The weird thing is that it ONLY had 338 e-mail addresses at the bottom, since there are a lot more addresses than that on the list. Why would it choose some but not others?

Anyway, the problem (which no doubt came about with the transition to the new site) has been brought to Jeff's attention and will be fixed before next week. Sorry about that.

Probably because the last e-mail address on the list was my own. I don't know whether the order of the addresses was in subscription order or something else. I happen to have two email addresses registered for it, and each appears as the final address on the list, with the address higher on the list received after the one lower on the list. I assume Kim Decker, the first address, sees no problem with the mailing.

If that's helpful.

And I cut and pasted the thing into WordPerfect, then used find and replace on a phrase to count the addresses, rather than doing it by hand, for those concerned.

See, I would never have thought of that.

My address was also at the bottom of the list on the one I received.

This has been fixed now. Sorry about that. Eric will be sending out an apology email to the list as soon as possible, partly to explain and apologize, and partly to make sure it works correctly now. :)

Dang it. I didn't get the e-mail this week (I don't think I registered my current e-mail address yet). If I did, i'd have a list of e-mail addresses to sell to the largest spam companies in the world.
