Actually, Hillary raised $26 million and took $10 million from her Senate bank account. It's amazing that Mitt could raise almost as much money as Bill Clinton, who is the big draw in Hillary's fundraising.

Now, I didn't think that this article in the New York Times** was so bad, but the American Thinker and several other conservative blogs are denouncing it as religious bigotry. What say you?

Hmm. I guess people can get upset about ANYTHING, if they go around on the defensive, hoping to get upset by things.

The NY Times article seems pretty even-handed to me. I disagree with the thesis -- that Romney should openly discuss how Mormonism is different from evangelical Christianity, rather than building on common beliefs -- but I don't see anything prejudiced or bigoted about it.

I like this article by Orson Scott Card on the Romney candidacy.

Except that 1) the MSM hasn't given Sharpton a pass on this, and 2) Sharpton was in the midst of a debate with an atheist, so it's hard to tell in context whether Sharpton was taking a dig at Romney or the guy he was debating.

Someone posted the audio on YouTube, and it seems like Sharpton was making a dig at Mormons, at least to me, but this one may be up to one's interpretation.

Sharpton has apologized to Elders Nelson and Eyring. But not, apparently, to Romney. Go figure.
