This place is obviously a joke and a distrubing one at that. I just can't laugh (too much) at something that makes me so uncomfortable.

To me, it looks like the person who created it has issues that they can't get over.

I think there is a big difference between joking about Church things, and mocking the position of Bishop with something like that blog. Maybe if it was actually funny, then I would be more open to it, but it isn't. It looks like a feeble attempt at trying to see how many church members they can offend. I just really hope that these aren't real people that are being mocked by whoever is doing this flog (fake + blog = flog).

Having already firmly established that I am controversial and hell-bound, I found it hilarious.

I thought it was very funny too! I laughed out loud at several parts. Especially the 2nd post about how they're very sorry the former bishop left the church to become a polygamist. So I'm going to hell also. What else is new? ;)

The podcasts are sidesplitting. Thanks, InO.

I found it mildly amusing. To the comment that someone has "issues" - that may very well be the case. If so, then this blog is a healthy outlet. The people that handle adversity best are those with a sense of humor about it. Of the ways that I've seen people handle their differences with the church, a satirical blog is probably among the most benign.

bishop higgins

Thanks!

Very funny and I don't think it is disrespectful to the calling of Bishop AT ALL. It is a joke, and obviously the people aren't real. I mean, who calls around the ward asking for a kidney for the ward kidney drive.

http://bishophiggins.blogspot.com/

Also, here is an article/comment written by a real bishop about what he has to say about it - I completely agree with him.

http://www.localcommentary.com/davidblo ... 070407.htm

Have you ever heard of Phil Hendrie? He has a radio show were he is the radio host AND the caller guest. He was very talented and the caller guest would say the most outrageous things (rude, racist, whatever...) and people didn't realize it was fake (despite the fact that phil never tried to hide this) and people would call in sooooooooo mad. It was absolutely side splitting - kind of like the above mentioned website.

It is very onion-esk.

Personally, I think the persons that have issues are the ones that can't laugh, or can't see the humor in this.......

"Last Sunday, little Roger Briggs had the worst testimony I've ever heard. My wife said, "But he's only five". That may well be, but he never mentioned any member of the Godhead or his family or his health or how much the bishopric cares about him. None of that. Just some stupid thing about a dog and a turtle. I don't know why I'm so mad about this, but it really gets my goat."

I love Phil Hendrie's show. It is some of the most humorous use of radio waves ever.

Oh, after re-reading my post, I can see what ya mean. Thanks! as in thanks for drawing attention to a very funny and entertaining web site.

I am also retarded. I wonder if that should be it's own post.

I'm giving this a bump because the Bishop's been busy posting lately, as have the ward members responding to him. Funny stuff!

Hotel Manager has been mentioned in Bishop Higgins' Blog! I don't know if it was intentional or not. I don't know if his real name has been outed or not, so I'll let you guess. HotMan, are you affiliated? I love that blog - I had to read the Tithing Elite Update post out loud to my straight laced husband, to whom I had previously read the Tithing Elite post. He just shook his head. But he also laughed.
