Eric D. Snider to Perform Show of Comedy, Music and Tap Dancing in Provo

Back by popular demand (his own) Eric D. Snider will return to Provo to perform a show consisting of his "humorous" songs, "amusing" anecdotes and "tolerable" comedy. Plus, as a special bonus, Eric will tap dance!

The show is Monday, Nov. 14 at the ComedySportz venue in Provo, 36 W. Center St. Admission is $5.

Eric has written many new songs since the release of his CD, "Will Make Jokes for Food," in 2003, and they'll all be performed at the Provo show.

In addition, the performance will be recorded for use on Eric's next album, tentatively titled "Monkeys and Pirates Are Funny." So if you laugh during the show, your laughter might be on the CD. (You get no royalties for that.)

What are Eric's new songs about, you ask? All sorts of things! Michael Moore, Christmas caroling, trying to be less of a jerk because you're in love now, county fairs, the young people today with their rock 'n' roll, stuff like that.

And what of Eric's older songs? Like the one about inappropriate swimwear? Or the one where he sings the names of all the current LDS General Authorities? Or the one where he's Michael McLean? What about those? Don't worry, Hector. Songs from yesteryear (i.e., 2003) will be included, too.

And don't forget the tap dancing! (Note: Show will not feature tap dancing.)

Eric moved from Utah to Portland, Ore., a few months ago, so his performances in Provo will be far fewer now. Don't miss this chance to see the show, be part of recording the album, and experience the joy of laughter! The sheer, drug-like joy of laughter!

The show is being held under the auspices of ComedySportz Provo, but is not a ComedySportz production. They should be neither blamed nor credited.

Note: We were only kidding about there not being any tap dancing. There will be TONS of it!

WHEN: Monday, Nov. 14
MORE WHEN: 8 p.m.
WHERE: ComedySportz, 36 W. Center St., Provo
HOW MUCH: $5

I'm not trying to say I'm better than anyone else on this board or anything, but if I had a job that conflicted with this performance, I'd quit that freakin' job!!!!!!!!!!!!

If only the state of my pores would allow travel away from my hyperbaric chamber, I'd be there with bells on. Or three layers of special pore cream.

The first question that I asked EFB when I got home from my mission was when will Eric be performing in Provo, I was disappointed to here that nothing was scheduled yet. When he told me about this show the other day I was so excited. I'll be there in the front row...it's so exciting, the last show I went to was 2 day's before the MTC.

Ditto, Momma.

Okay, Bill Bellamy is doing a show at some third-rate comedy outlet in St. Louis this month. And Eric is WAY funnier than him. Bill can't even tap dance!

I would love to be able to go, but logistics of a flight, hotel, car to get there make it prohibitive.

But, at Eric's First Show of Comedy, Music and Tap Dancing in the Midwest, I will be there. And I can't guarantee that I won't react like a Price is Right audience member at various points during the show.

So when the new CD is released, though, I will be buying it.

One question remains, if Eric does a show in "The Lou", will Jeff come to be the bouncer to protect Eric from all his Midwest groupies (a.k.a. My Mom)? Razz

I'm still sore that Eric didn't dance at the last show, and after I offered him fifty bucks, or something like that. Oh well.

I might could be there, but I don't want to go by myself. Hey, Abby. Come with.

Somehow I think this doesn't include airfare and hotel, or I would be there to see the show. Those of you who go, tell us how it turns out. Can't exactly get the tap dancing on CD.

Ever thought about making a video, Eric? You could sell it over the 'Net. Pay for play kind of thing. It might work...

Yeah...Jeff could even encode sample mpegs as previews. You know...in all his "spare" time because he's got nothing else to do, what with building a house.

But seriously...if Eric could show off his Gregory Hines-esque skills over the net...that's when the big bucks start rolling in.

Me?!? A common GROUPIE?!?

Oh, nay. My love and admiration for Eric goes much deeper than any superficial Groupie Thang.

What's really kind of funny (to me, anyway) is that the night before last, I put "Will Make Jokes For Food" into my car's CD player, so I'd been listening to Eric's songs and singing along (but not very loudly) every time I've been in the car, and thinking about his live shows in Provo.

Then last night, when I came home and signed in at The Village, here we are talking about a brand new live Provo Show.

But I personally will be unable to attend this one on Nov. 14, because of the fact that I will still be in Ohio (or possibly Missouri) until I am scheduled to return to California on Nov. 17. So I guess I will just have to wait for the CD and maybe the DVD ("Eric D. Snider: The Man, The Myth, The Legend") to come out so I can see him perform again.

Eric, I think you should change the show date to November 25th, then I could go too!!

Seriously, I'm so annoyed that I'm going to miss the show by just 9 DAYS!! (I'm arriving in UT on the 23rd).

GRRRRRRR!

Oh well, I'm excited for a new CD. And I'll be listening to the old one during the drive to UT.

I suggested to Jeff the other day the idea of making an Eric Live! DVD. I think that it would be a great idea. He told me too find a camera crew...as if i'm not a good enough camera crew...Plus I guess it's Eric's show so he'd have to decide.
